Soybean oil futures rose as much as 3.8% on expectations that the Trump administration will finalize biofuel-blending quotas by March. Whole soybean futures gained as much as 1.5%, and USDA reported five export sales including 204,000 tons to China.
China has bought more than 8 million tons of a 12 million ton target.
Expected quota finalization lifts biomass-based diesel demand for soyoil, and China buying supports whole bean prices. Both factors are bullish for soybean complex prices.
