China imported 62.3 million tons of soybeans in January to July 2023, up 15% from a year earlier. July imports were 9.73 million tons, down from June but above July 2022.
The average per-tonne import value rose 1.3% year on year, and imported soybeans are mainly crushed into animal feed meal.
Robust Chinese soybean imports sustain global crush demand and support soybean meal supplies for feed, supporting prices.
