China announced in April a plan to cut soymeal content in animal rations to 10% by 2030, down from 13% in 2023. Smaller farmers face higher costs and difficulty adopting alternative feed methods, and insect protein alternatives remain in early development.
A structural cut in soymeal inclusion would reduce long-term demand for soybean meal and soybean imports, a bearish factor for the soy complex over time.
