China bought at least 10 cargoes of U.S. soybeans, worth about $300 million, in contracts signed after a phone call between the US and Chinese presidents. Traders estimated the volume at 10 to 15 cargoes of 60,000 to 65,000 metric tons each.
New Chinese purchases of US beans support US export demand and futures, though the volume is small against the 12 million ton pledge.
