Deputy Agriculture Secretary Stephen Vaden says China is on track to buy 25 million metric tons of US soybeans over this year and next, on top of $17 billion in annual ag purchases. He also said the administration is considering lifting countervailing duties on Russian and Moroccan fertilizer.
Official confidence in Chinese purchase commitments supports US soybean demand, while a possible easing of fertilizer duties could lower input costs for US growers over time.
