A Trump-Xi meeting produced a Chinese commitment to buy $17 billion of US agricultural products annually in 2026, 2027 and 2028, on top of October 2025 soybean pledges. The expanded pledges would include corn, cotton, sorghum, wheat and beef.
If met, the purchases would restore US-China ag trade to pre-2025 levels and lift US corn, sorghum, wheat and soybean demand while displacing Argentine, Brazilian and Canadian supplies.
