Under the UN-brokered grain deal, about 9.76 million tonnes of agricultural products, mainly corn with some soybeans, sunflower oil, sunflower meal and barley, have been shipped. Ukrainian wheat exports have helped push Chicago wheat prices back near pre-invasion levels, though food prices in developing countries remain high.
Export flows from Ukraine have capped global wheat and corn prices, while high retail staple prices reflect weak local supply and currency conditions rather than futures.
