Romania's government aims to double monthly transit capacity for Ukrainian grain through Constanta to four million tons, from near zero before the war. Operator Comvex expects a new system by mid-October to add 120,000 tons per month, after about 2.7 million tons passed through in August.
Expanded Danube and Constanta routes give Ukraine a larger alternative export outlet, which increases total grain flow and tempers wheat and corn price support from the Black Sea disruption.
