Argentina sold 33.1 million tonnes of soybeans in the 2020/21 season through October 27, behind the 34.4 million tonnes sold a year earlier. The 2020/21 harvest totaled 43.1 million tonnes.
Sales for 2021/22 stood at 2.6 million tonnes, with a forecast harvest of 44 million tonnes.
Export pace lagging last season means slightly more Argentine supply is retained domestically, which is modestly bearish for world soy meal prices. The effect is small given the scale of the forecast crop.
