Molinos Agro and ACA plan a soybean processing plant in Timbúes with investment above US$500 million, designed for 15,000 tonnes per day and starting at about 10,000 t/day. The project will add roughly 50% to Molinos Agro's current 20,000 t/day San Lorenzo capacity, and construction is expected to take about three years.
The companies cite planned cuts to soy export duties from January 2027 as a key driver.
Expanded domestic crushing capacity increases future soybean meal and oil output, which is bearish for those products, while the export duty cuts support higher soybean planting and crushing over time.
