NASS county data for 2022 show Illinois counties topping the national rankings for corn production and soybean yield. Piatt County led soybean yield at 74.2 bushels per acre, and Illinois had the top five counties for corn production.
Strong Illinois output adds to U.S. supply, which is mildly bearish, though high input costs limit the profitability gains from these yields.
