USDA's January WASDE showed 2024 corn and soybean production below trade expectations, with corn yield at 179.3 bpa versus an average trade guess of 182.7. March corn futures rose 13 cents to about $4.69 and March soybeans rallied 24 cents to about $10.23.
Production shortfalls versus expectations reduce available feed grain and soybean meal supplies, lifting feed input costs for buyers.
