India's 2025-26 kharif rice output reached a record 124.5 million tonnes, up 1.7 million tonnes from last year, according to the first advance estimates. Maize output is estimated at 28 million tonnes, up from about 25 million, while oilseeds and pulses declined slightly.
A record Indian rice crop and larger maize output increase exportable supply and add bearish pressure to global rice and maize prices, though the estimates are preliminary and subject to revision.
