Feeder steers and heifers sold 3 to 8 dollars higher in the week ending May 5, with some lots up 10 to 12 dollars on very good demand. Heavy rain and snow across the Midwest and Southern Plains closed rural roads and hampered cattle movement to sale barns.
Limited feeder supply and weather-disrupted movement tightened availability, supporting higher feeder cattle prices as buyers restocked pens.
