Feeder and stocker cattle prices rebounded to late August and early September levels in the week, while calf prices trended lower. CME feeder and live cattle futures were 2.50 to 3.25 lower for the week, and rains improved pasture and stock water conditions.
Lower futures and weaker calf prices point to softer feeder cattle demand. Improved pasture conditions reduce pressure on feed demand from the grazing sector.
