The USDA's March WASDE left U.S. 2019/20 ending stocks for corn, soybeans and wheat essentially unchanged, with corn at 1.892 billion bushels and soybeans at 425 million. World corn stocks were nudged up to 297.3 million tonnes, and the report came in close to trade expectations.
Grain futures were little changed in the hours after the release.
With U.S. balance sheets unchanged and the report in line with expectations, there is no new supply or demand signal for feed grains, so prices stay driven by outside factors.
