China accepted its first commercial container of US medium grain Calrose rice from California, sold by ADM Rice to a private importer. Chinese buyers had reportedly slowed purchases ahead of the US presidential election.
The shipment is a small step toward Phase One purchase commitments and modestly supports US rough rice demand, though volumes are minimal.
