Polish wholesale poultry prices rose 33% over the past year to PLN 3.99 per kg, the highest since 2014. Retail chicken prices are up 56%, and PKO BP expects another 20-25% rise in the second half.
Rising feed costs, weak EU chicken slaughter and avian flu have driven the increase.
Tighter EU poultry supply from avian flu and reduced chick placements points to firmer feed demand over time. Higher feed costs also reflect tight grain and meal markets.
