India's Committee of Secretaries raised reserve prices for wheat and rice sold under the open market sale scheme, including broken rice for ethanol distilleries, effective October 1. The decision follows record FCI rice stocks of 37.99 million tonnes as of June 1.
Higher reserve prices for broken rice used in ethanol may modestly firm feedstock costs, but record Indian stocks keep overall export and feed rice supply ample.
