China's approval of additional urea exports has pulled nitrogen prices back from their July highs, according to IFDC's 24th Fertilizer Crisis Response Bulletin. The bulletin warns the relief could be temporary, citing risks from Hormuz shipping, possible reversals of Chinese export quotas, and sanctions.
It also flags Russian sulfur export restrictions and China's suspension of phosphate exports through August as constraints on phosphate supply.
Returning Chinese urea tonnage is easing nitrogen costs for feed and grain producers, but any Hormuz disruption or quota reversal could quickly lift prices again. Phosphate supply stays constrained, which keeps DAP firm.
