Black Sea grain trade has so far been largely unaffected by Russia-Ukraine tensions, with exports expected to stay steady near term. Russian and Ukrainian wheat FOB prices fell about 3-4% month on month by January 27, while Ukrainian corn gained nearly 4% over the same period.
Traders attribute slower wheat exports mainly to factors other than the standoff.
Current prices reflect limited realized disruption, but the wheat price pressure and corn gains show that supply-risk premium is present and could expand if flows are interrupted.
