The American Farm Bureau Federation reports that the second round of Market Facilitation Program payments will reach producers in late November or early December. Payments are based on planted acres, ranging from $15 to $150 per acre at the county level, with a $15 per-acre cover crop add-on.
USDA data shows $6.8 billion paid so far.
Acreage-based payments may influence planting decisions and provide income support that slows farm selling. The effect on commodity prices is small.
