Safrinha corn planting in Brazil was slightly delayed by wet weather in January and February, but most of the crop went in within the preferred window. Forecasts call for below-normal April rainfall across much of central Brazil, and an early end to the rains could cut yields if subsoil moisture is insufficient.
Early rain cessation in central Brazil would reduce grain fill and tighten the export corn supply, which supports corn prices.
