Early Wednesday trade showed March corn up 1-3/4 cents, soybeans up 2 cents and CBOT wheat up 7-1/2 cents. Funds were buying soybeans on the lack of an immediate trade war and warm Argentine weather, and buying wheat as it looked cheap.
USDA also reported unknown destinations buying 136,000 metric tons of corn.
Fund buying and export sales support near-term prices, but the gains are small and mostly reflect positioning and sentiment rather than a change in supply and demand.
