CME milk futures and cash dairy prices closed higher on Thursday, with November Class III milk up 19 cents to $20.87. Butter ended a three-day slide, closing up 5.75 cents at $2.6675, and nonfat dry milk rose a cent to $1.38.
Higher futures and a butter rebound support Class III and Class IV milk values in the near term. The gains are modest and do not change the broader softening trend.
