Brazil’s Agriculture Ministry said that processing one tonne of corn into ethanol produces about 420 liters of ethanol and 300 kg of dried distillers grains (DDG) used in livestock and poultry feed. The figure was presented at a National Energy Policy Council meeting, with Mato Grosso do Sul highlighted as a corn-ethanol production hub.
The ethanol coproduct stream adds feed ingredients to the market, supporting DDGS availability and potentially easing feed costs. The report describes existing yields rather than a change in production, so the price effect is limited.
