Heavy rain in Söke, Aydın, has halted cotton and sunflower harvesting, with 30% of cotton and 50% of sunflower crops still unharvested. Cotton prices of 41–42 lira per kilogram are below reported production costs of about 47 lira, leaving growers selling at a loss.
