Corn yields in Poland’s Lower Silesian and Opole provinces are unusually low this season: many fields are producing 3–4 tonnes per hectare, while most growers report 5–7 tonnes per hectare. With harvest nearly complete, high drying costs and moisture deductions are weighing on sales, and some buyers have stopped purchasing wet corn or are imposing stricter terms.
Reduced yields and tighter buyer access may limit locally available corn and support prices in southwestern Poland. High drying costs and discounts for wet grain also reduce farmers’ net returns and can delay or constrain marketed supply.
After 1,465 past bullish weather events, Corn moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (54% higher; middle half -1.4% to +1.9%), and +0.9% over 20.
