Morocco launched its 2026–27 agricultural campaign with 1.3 million quintals of certified seeds available at reduced subsidized prices. Plans include planting cereals, legumes and forage crops across more than 4.9 million hectares, expanding direct seeding, and providing additional support to livestock producers; farmers continue to cite irrigation, costs and labor shortages as concerns.
Subsidized seeds and equipment may support planting and crop supply, while water constraints could limit production if irrigation remains inadequate. The net price effect is uncertain, with weather and water availability the main potential source of upward pressure on feed-grain prices.
