The US dollar traded above EGP 54 at several Egyptian banks on Sunday. At the National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr and CIB, it was quoted at EGP 54.14 to buy and EGP 54.24 to sell.
A stronger dollar can raise the local-currency cost of imported feed and agricultural inputs in Egypt, putting upward pressure on import costs.
