October futures averages put the 2026 harvest prices for corn and soybeans above their spring projected prices for the first time in four years for corn and five years for soybeans. At 85% coverage, the higher harvest prices increased example revenue-protection guarantees by about $22 per acre for corn and nearly $80 for soybeans.
Higher insurance guarantees strengthen growers’ revenue floors and may support farm cash flow, but they do not directly change crop supply or feed demand. The figures reflect October futures averages rather than a new supply shock, so the direct price implication is limited.
