The Philippines’ gross international reserves declined to $97.4 billion at the end of October, down from $99.5 billion in September and a February 2026 peak of $113.3 billion. The central bank cited foreign-exchange operations, government withdrawals for external debt payments, and lower gold valuations among the factors behind the decline.
Falling reserves may limit the central bank’s room to manage peso volatility, potentially increasing currency-related costs for imported feed and grain. No direct change to commodity supply or demand is reported.
