São Paulo egg producers’ purchasing power relative to corn improved in October, ending three months of decline, as corn prices fell more than egg prices. Their terms of trade against soybean meal worsened for a fourth consecutive month as meal prices rose.
Cheaper corn eases poultry feed costs, but more expensive soybean meal offsets some of that relief. The contrasting input moves leave producer margins dependent on feed formulation and the other costs of production.
