Saudi Aramco agreed to buy Primax, a fuel distributor operating in Peru, Colombia and Ecuador, for about $3.5 billion, according to a report citing sources familiar with the deal. Primax, owned by Grupo Romero, operates 2,185 service stations across the three countries.
The acquisition changes ownership of a regional fuel retailer but does not indicate a near-term change in fuel supply, energy prices or agricultural commodity costs.
