Hungary’s 2026 sunflower yield averaged 1.6 tonnes per hectare, but county results ranged from 1 tonne in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok to 2.8 tonnes in Baranya. At an October producer price of 205,100 forints per tonne, the yield gap implied a potential revenue difference of about 369,180 forints per hectare.
Low yields in some areas constrain sunflower seed availability and can raise the cost of sunflower-derived feed ingredients, while stronger yields elsewhere partly offset the impact. The large regional spread makes aggregate supply and price effects uncertain.
