Euronext plans to launch Black Sea wheat and corn futures in June 2027, with physical delivery at Romania’s Port of Constanta. The euro-denominated contracts will use 50-tonne lots and delivery months matching existing Euronext contracts; the wheat contract will specify 12% protein, and options will not be offered initially.
Contracts tied to Black Sea delivery could give regional grain traders a more relevant hedging benchmark, improving price discovery and risk management. The launch itself does not change physical supply or demand, so any price effect is likely limited unless it meaningfully changes trading and hedging activity.
