OCP Specialty Products & Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Morocco’s OCP Group, has filed with Morocco’s competition authority to acquire the one-third stakes in EMAPHOS held by Germany’s Budenheim and Belgium’s Prayon. The two acquisitions would give OCP two-thirds ownership and exclusive control after the first closes, then full ownership after the second; EMAPHOS operates a high-purity phosphoric acid production line in Morocco.
The transaction would consolidate OCP’s control of an existing phosphoric acid producer, but no change in output or supply is reported, so the immediate price effect is unclear.
