The Bank of Thailand plans to issue rules for baht-backed stablecoins in March 2027, with an initial limit of about two issuers. The proposed framework requires full baht backing, one-to-one redemption within one business day, and prohibits interest payments; applications for new money-exchange service providers will be temporarily closed in 2027.
The rules concern digital payments and financial stability and do not identify a direct feed-commodity supply, demand, or price mechanism.
