Freshways will cut the farmgate price it pays for liquid milk by 7 pence per litre to 29.4p from December 1. Arla also reduced its standard milk price by 0.45p per litre in November, while leaving its organic price unchanged.
Lower processor payments reflect weaker dairy-market returns and reduce revenue for UK milk producers. The price cuts are bearish for milk prices and may pressure production margins.
