Suez Canal traffic reached its highest level since the Red Sea crisis began, with 1,338 transits totaling 125.6 million deadweight tonnes in October. Traffic nevertheless remained about 33% below November 2023 levels, before large-scale vessel rerouting around the Cape of Good Hope.
More Suez transits may gradually ease rerouting and capacity pressure on shipping, potentially reducing freight costs, though traffic remains substantially below pre-crisis levels.
