Bank Indonesia reported that foreign exchange reserves reached US$146.8 billion at the end of October, up US$500 million from September. The increase came amid continued pressure on the rupiah, which remained above Rp18,100 per US dollar in early November.
The reserve increase provides a modest buffer for external payments and potential currency-market intervention, but does not itself indicate stronger private capital inflows. No direct feed-commodity supply or demand effect is reported.
