Ukraine’s exports of major agricultural products fell 41% year over year to 6.5 million tonnes between August and October 2026, as Odesa’s ports were largely shut. Cargo shifted to rail and Danube routes, while 4.6 million tonnes of products remained unsold domestically, including about 4 million tonnes of grain.
The blockade restricts export flows and raises transport costs, reducing accessible supply for overseas buyers. The unsold domestic surplus is putting downward pressure on Ukrainian prices, even as the export disruption can support prices in importing markets.
