Argentina’s Federal Fisheries Council approved a combined 2026 allowable catch of 277,200 tonnes for anchovy and mackerel, just 1,000 tonnes above the prior year. The total comprises 225,000 tonnes of anchovy and 52,200 tonnes of mackerel, with the increase assigned to the southern anchovy stock.
The near-flat catch limit constrains the potential growth of fish supplies available to reduction fisheries, offering modest support to fishmeal availability and prices if landings remain tight.
