Ukraine supplied 69,830 tonnes of barley to the EU from July 1 to October 25, 2026, accounting for 30.9% of EU barley imports and making it the leading external supplier in that period. EU barley imports rose 21.3% year over year to 225,960 tonnes, while Ukrainian shipments increased from 18,960 tonnes a year earlier.
Higher Ukrainian deliveries increase barley availability for EU buyers and intensify competition among external suppliers. This could weigh on imported barley prices, although rising total imports indicate stronger demand as well.
