Mosaic CEO Bruce Bodine said Russian potash shipments have slowed as Russia prioritizes transport arrangements for grain and other commodities. Mosaic expects Russian and Belarusian potash exports to decline by about 1.5 million tonnes in the fourth quarter, with some restricted volumes potentially unable to reach the market rather than merely being delayed.
The company also said Chinese potash imports have already exceeded last year's full-year total, amid stronger demand and interest in strategic reserves.
Reduced export availability from Russia and Belarus could tighten global potash supply and support prices into 2027. China's stronger demand and reserve-building interest add to the demand underpinning.
