Kazakhstan exported 63,200 metric tons of sunflower husk pellets in the first nine months of 2026, 3.56 times the volume shipped in the same period a year earlier. Export revenue rose 515% to $3.4 million; the pellets are largely produced for export and used as biomass fuel, including by Polish power plants.
The increase reflects stronger export flows of a sunflower-processing byproduct, but husk pellets are primarily a fuel rather than a feed ingredient. The story does not establish a material change in sunflower meal or seed supply or prices.
