The U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council and UAE-based BioPower Energy signed a memorandum of understanding on October 16. BioPower intends to source 50% to 100% of its feedstock from U.S. suppliers, with an initial guaranteed minimum of 1 million metric tons of annual purchases.
The commitment could add a substantial new export outlet for U.S. corn, supporting demand and prices if the planned purchases proceed.
After 729 past bullish trade events, Corn moved a median +0.4% over 5 sessions (56% higher; middle half -1.1% to +1.8%), and +0.5% over 20.
