The U.S. dollar closed in Colombia at 3,237 pesos on November 6, up 9 pesos from the official market reference rate. It traded between 3,223 and 3,253 pesos during the session, with about US$1.049 billion in transactions; U.S. employment data also showed 165,000 jobs added in October and unemployment at 4.1%.
A stronger dollar against the Colombian peso raises the local-currency cost of dollar-priced imports, including feed and agricultural inputs. The move may increase import costs for Colombian buyers if it persists.
