The European Commission proposed initial 2027 catch limits for 11 EU-managed fish stocks in the Atlantic, Kattegat and Skagerrak, using the latest ICES advice. The proposals include a 22% quota increase for anglerfish and a 6% increase for horse mackerel in Iberian waters, while other limits would be maintained or reduced; additional stocks await scientific advice.
The proposed limits could change the supply of fish available to European processors and feed users, particularly where quotas increase or decrease. Any market effect remains provisional until the proposals are negotiated and adopted.
