Tunisia's interim industry and energy minister said commercial phosphate production in 2026 was about 2.8 million tonnes, below the 4.5 million tonnes planned. A proposed 2027–2035 plan would raise production and processing capacity, with equipment purchases, replacement wells, project completion and transport-company restructuring among the measures discussed.
Production well below plan indicates tighter phosphate supply from Tunisia, which may support phosphate-rock prices; the proposed capacity increases could ease that pressure if funded and delivered.
